Holi is a festival celebrated amongst the Hindu population and is most prevalent in India.

Do you know:Holi received its name as the ‘Festival of colours’ after Lord Krishna, who was known to play the pranks on village girls by drenching them with water and colours.

Holi is a festival that not only marks the end of winter and the beginning of a new year according to Hindu calendar, but is also considered as the celebration of the victory of good over evil. On the day of the festival, friends and family meet, and enjoy smearing one another with dry colours, having parties and drenching one another with water. Bhaang, a drink made from the cannabis plant, is also traditionally consumed.
