Honeycomb

The Queen Bee was dying and all the bees in the honeycomb were feeling dreadfully sad. The Queen Bee called Princess Ellen and told her, “Remember that you will have to look after all the bees in the honeycomb. Be careful if you ever see smoke! That is a strange creature called Man who steals our honey and takes away the honeycomb too!” Princess Ellen heard her very carefully and said, “It’s true. The bees bring lots of nectar from the flowers.” Princess Ellen called all the bees and spoke to them, “The best gift we can give to the Queen Bee is to continue making a beautiful honeycomb! We should not simply sit around here.” And to the Queen’s delight, she saw Princess Ellen leading the bees out into the gardens and getting busy making honey! The hard-working bees were very proud of their Princess Ellen too. She would be a wonderful Queen Bee.
