Every successful man receives awards for his works, performance and achievements. But Dhirubhai Ambani had risen so tall and high by his achievements and spectacular accomplishments. That the awards and honours appeared like apologies to him. Personally the satisfaction he felt at realising his dreams was his real reward which no one else could see. Only he could feel it inwardly and his associates could sense it. Anyway he went through the motions of receiveing rewards and honours in a polite way for the satisfaction of others and his family.

Bill Clinton with Dhirubhai and his sons

Then U.S. President Bill Clinton was very impressed with Dhirubhai’s capabilities, visualisation and management skills. During his tour of India Bill Clinton spent 40 precious minutes with Ambani family. He had gone to see Dhirubhai out of curiosity to meet that Indian wonder who had caught his imagination. How a little educated and untrained Indian of poor background was able to rise to the position of his country’s top most industrialist could amaze anyone.
Dhirubhai Ambani never ran after awards and honours. Infact the honours and awards had begun to run after him to become meaningful and purposeful. Through his Reliance campaign he was serving the country economically, creating hope and showing the way to other entrepreneurs through example. His dreams were the reflections of the dreams of India.
