Common name : Horizontal orbweb weaver
Scientific name : Leucauge dromedaria
Family : Tetranychidae
Native to : Australia
Interesting fact : These spiders can be easily identified by their silver colour, and black and yellow markings.
About 10 mm in length, this spider creates a web, which is at an angle or horizontal to the ground. Due to its long legs, it can build a web that has a lot of space in between. The web is generally constructed 1 metre above the ground surface, over shrubs or freshwater sources, so that the spider may easily catch any insect, which is ascending or descending on a plant or water surface.
