A long time ago, the sky was very low. People could touch the sky and talk to the clouds. The Sun was very hot, so nobody went near it. At that time, an old woman used to live near the horizon where the sky was very low indeed. This woman lived alone and spent the whole day cleaning her house. One year the summer was especially hot and the land was very dry. There was dust everywhere. The old woman didn’t like this, so she decided to sweep the dust away. But the more she swept the dusty ground, the more dust rose around her in large volumes and she almost choked. The dust got into the eyes of the sky. The dust went into his eyes, nose and everywhere and he coughed and sneezed till water came out of his eyes, nose and everywhere. His tears dropped on the ground and made the dusty ground muddy. The woman got very angry. She screamed at the sky and before he could explain, she started smacking him hard with her broom. The sky had to run away higher up to save himself, and since then he stays up there.
