Humayun’s Tomb

Humayun’s Tomb is the Tomb of Mughal Emperor Humayun, built in Delhi, India, between 1569 and 1572. Humayun’s Tomb was the first garden-tomb to be built on the Indian subcontinent. Built in red sandstone and white marble, the tomb comprises eight-sided chambers that represent the Islamic concept of paradise. The entire complex represents Central Asian and Persian styles of Islamic architecture.

Amazing Fact: More than a 100 graves exist within the complex, of which many are on the first level terrace.
