Farmer George had a ram, Hummer, who drew a cart when the farmer was picking apples. Hummer was a peaceful fellow and enjoyed trotting around hitched to the cart. One day, Hummer wouldn’t trot steadily. He jumped and kicked out and tossed his head. Farmer George tried to hold him steady, but suddenly Hummer shot off with the cart! He kicked with his hind legs and the cart broke.Farmer George ran after him wondering what had happened! After a gallop across the meadow, he finally caught Hummer, who was rolling in the grass. “What’s the matter with you?” yelled Farmer George. And then he saw that there were ants biting poor Hummer’s chin! He had been trying to get rid of them desperately! Farmer George gave him a good brushing and put a little medicine on the bites. Soon Hummer had a new cart too!
