Sheikh Chilli once had a respectable job in a king’s court. One day, he insisted on accompanying the king for hunting. In those days, ‘machans’ were made for hunting, and goats were tied beneath them to attract tigers or lions. The approaching predators were then hunted down. The king sat on one platform with the noblemen. Sheikh sat on another. He thought it was a silly way to hunt, waiting for the animal to appear! Soon, Sheikh started dreaming, as usual. He dreamt that he was standing face to face with a tiger, looking at it into the eyes. His dream continued, with him bravely taking on the tiger and shooting him directly. Sheikh was totally unaware that he had actually come down from the machan and a tiger was really there. He had pulled the trigger and killed the tiger at close range! Everybody, including the king, was full of praise for his bravery, but Sheikh was confused. He didn’t know how the tiger was killed!
