Iguazu Falls

Iguazu-Falls

The Iguazu Falls are waterfalls on River Iguazu that divide the river into an upper and a lower section. The Iguazu Falls are located on River Iguazu, which is on the border of Argentina and Brazil. The first record of the existence of the Falls was in 1541.

Why they are special: While River Iguazu flows mostly through Brazil, the Falls are mostly on the Argentinian side. The Falls tumble off the Paraná Plateau where small islands have broken the Falls into separate waterfalls. The Iguazu Falls are arranged in a way that resembles a reversed letter ‘J’.
