At that time the religious thought process had come to a point of stagnation, almost a theosophical death as even God needs constant reinventing to stay immortal in human minds. And a religion must keep evolving to stay alive in the changing social conditions, shifting political scene and advancements taking place in the other fields of professional activities that influence the human thinking. For this reason Robert Boyle and Isaac Newton worked to rationalize the mechanical materialism to make it spiritually and psychologically viable. This duly enthused the faithful and religious legions. This attempt to link the truth and transparency of natural science with religious faith was opposed by the other people. For blind faithful it was not easy to accept the new religious philosophy of Isaac Newton and Boyle. As a result there was an impasse in the matter of the faith. A stand off situation had got created.
But incidentally a section of people had come up in England that admired Newton’s natural religion science. These people could see an alignment between religion, God and natural science evolving. It was the beginning of a new spiritualism that saw logical relationship between natural science, religion and God. The people could feel simplicity and logical truth in this new ‘ism’. These new revolutionary thoughts questioned the logic or absence of it in eastern old established religious tradition. The question mark also got put on the myths spawned by Christianity. The theory of Boyle that proved the automatic sovereignty of God was a significant development of the history of religions. Newton made an important attempt to establish the Boyle’s principles on mathematical base. Thus the people were impressed with the new common definition that covered religion and science both.
Isaac Newton held the view that God created the universe acting as a Divine researcher, inventor and designer. For that reason Newton felt the laws and principles of the natural science established by the scientists should be taken as subordinate or secondary to the God phenomenon of cosmic dimensions. Or the scientific work may be taken as the local quantification or definition of the cosmic forces at work to sustain the creation that God caused. In other words Newton was telling people that in all the laws and the principles of the science they must see an attempt to define the God force at local specified levels and segments subject wise. That would strengthen the faith in God in one’s thinking.

Newton believes firmly the God was responsible for creation of entire universe and life forms existing in it. Everyone must have faith in that Almighty. But in the context of spiritual thought Leibniz differed from Newton. He was of the opinion that in the worldly affairs and happenings God did not exist. So according to him God and natural science should not be put together. On the contrary Newton believed God needed to be viewed from the angle of entirely humanitarian interests to destroy the negative inclinations. New liberal section was vocally opposed to it. On the other hand liberals were supporting the ideology of Newton that had taken hundreds of years to evolve through thinking generations. The mechanical creation of the world and God power together they could feel in the laws of the nature. But the orthodox and liberal lines of thinking suffered from mysticism in realization and treatment in respect of God. Spiritualism was a complex issue about which only a person’s own thought could decide about his belief or disbelief in God. From ancient times to the modern nuclear age majority of the humans kept their trust in religions and faiths in the passage of entire time. But that faith had the aspects of fears and hopes. Often frightening punishment for the non-believing kept the people in believer flocks. Newton’s new God faith wanted the people to feel his existence in the power of the natural phenomena and their scientific analysis. Thus Newton established the fact that he was a believer and God was the cause of entire creation and its continuation.
