Indian Forests

India is famous for its diverse wildlife, and dense and vast forest-cover. Forests cover the second largest land-share after agriculture, which is about 6,780,000 km2 (about 20.64% of the total land of the country). More than 45,000 plant species and more than 80,000 animal species thrive in the Indian forests.
