Interesting fact : Their sub-species are found in Tibet.

It usually has a sandy coat, which can sometimes vary from reddish-grey, fawn to pale chestnut, and a lighter under belly. Their numbers have reduced due to loss of habitat which took place due to slat farming in the Kutch; they have been killed by diseases such as surra caused by flies which have hit their populations.
