Mrs. Indira Gandhi was a great leader of India. She was fondly called Priyadarshini. She was born at Allahabad on November 19, 1917. She was the daughter of Pt. Nehru and Kamla. She studied at Shantiniketan. Then she went to Switzerland and England for higher studies. She came back to India after her studies. She married Feroze Gandhi. She had two sons – Rajiv and Sanjay. She also learnt a lot of politics from her father. She became the Prime Minister of India in 1966. She was know as the ‘Iron Lady’ of India. She was bold and hard-working. Her own guards killed her in 1984.
