You will need:
- A broad glass jar, with a
wide mouth - Hot water (near boiling
point) - Ice cubes
- Small plate
We all enjoy watching the rains. So, why not try and harness the powers of Mother Nature and experiment with the rains indoors?
INSTRUCTIONS
- Half fill a glass jar with hot water and cover it with a small plate.
- Leave it like this for 3-5 minutes.
- Take the ice cubes and place them on the plate.
RESULT
It begins to rain inside the glass jar. This happens because of the process of evaporation, condensation and precipitation. The hot water in the glass jar changes state and turns into vapour, which floats inside the jar as a result of the plate. When we place ice cubes on top of the plate, the temperature inside the jar is lowered once again and the water vapour near the top of the jar begins to cool, becomes too heavy to float and turns back into water which falls back into the water in the jar, creating the rain.
