Inukshuks come in all sizes with just a single rock or many rocks in varying sizes. These landmarks are built for many purposes. In the large barren snowy landscape, inukshuks became a custom. Inukshuks with arms, were a way for individuals to signal to one another for the migration routes, directions and navigation while the Inukshuk without arms served as a symbol for where fish could be found.
