Once, a student was learning meditation. He said to his teacher, “Teacher, I have uncontrollable anger. Please help me get rid of it.” The teacher smiled and said, “This is a strange problem. Please show it to me so that I may understand it.” The student looked confused. “I cannot show it to you right away. It comes on its own any time,” he said. The teacher said, “I am confused. You are being troubled by a problem that you don’t know where it comes from and when it comes. This means it does not belong to you. If it had belonged to you, you would have been able to show it to me. Why are you allowing something that is not yours to trouble you?” In the next few months, the student was able to develop a calm outlook
Moral: Understanding leads to the resolution of problems.
