Jack was a very lazy boy. He did not clean his room, complete his homework or help his mother at home. His parents were very worried for him. Every night, Jack always prayed to his Guardian Angel to give him magical powers to do all his work. One fine day, Jack’s Guardian Angel decided to teach him a lesson. That night, she appeared in his dream and said, “Jack, I will grant you your wish but remember, whenever you use magic you will become an inch smaller. However, whenever you do your work yourself, you will become an inch taller.” Jack was very excited when he woke up. He quickly used his magic to make his bed, pack his bag and complete his homework. When he went downstairs to have his breakfast, his mother said in alarm, “Jack, you’ve become three inches shorter!” Jack was shocked, too. Never again, did he use magic. He did his work all by himself.
