Jacob was deeply in love with the younger daughter Rachel. One day, he told his uncle that he would work for him for seven years and wanted Rachel as the payment. His uncle agreed to this and after seven years he got him married to Rachel. The day after the marriage, he saw that his bride wasn’t Rachel but Leah. He was upset and complained about it to his uncle, who promised to get his younger daughter married to him, if he agreed to work for him for another seven years. He did and soon after seven years he and his family set out to meet his brother Esau. He was scared, and thus took as many gifts as possible to please his brother. However, he was informed by his servants that Esau was waiting for him and wanted him to be killed. He found this quite hard and didn’t know if he could now trust God.
