The Jantar Mantar is a collection of architectural astronomical instruments. It is located in New Delhi and Jaipur (Rajasthan), India. Jantar Mantar was constructed in 1724 and in 1734 CE.
Why it is special: Built by the Rajput King Sawai Jai Singh-II, Jantar Mantar is a monument with great architectural innovations that allows the observer to view astronomical positions with the naked eye. These monuments use the features of masonry, stone and brass instruments. One of the instruments includes a stone sundial, which is the largest in the world.
