Job for Sheikh Chilli

A merchant, known to Sheikh Chilli’s father, once employed him as a servant. When Sheikh was asked to get water for the merchant, Sheikh got water in his hands. Abdullah, the merchant, explained that he had to use his common sense and then act. He should have brought water in a glass, on a tray. Sheikh didn’t understand, so Abdullah said that whenever he was asked to do something, he had to do two or three things on his own. Once, Abdullah fell ill and Sheikh was sent to call the ‘Hakim’. Sheikh remembered that he should be doing three things. So, he ordered a burial service, a ‘kafan’ and a wreath to be delivered and he informed all Abdullah’s friends that he was dying. When the grave-digger, the shopkeeper with kafan and people mourning Abdullah came right behind the Hakim. Abdullah asked what was happening. Sheikh said that he did these three things on his own. If Abdullah died, all these things would be needed!
