8 mm in length, and legs measuring up to 32 mm in length, the Katipo spider is a medium-sized spider which can be found only along the seashores living in sand dunes. Its diet is comprised of invertebrates, amphipods, moths, flies and even other spiders. The female can lay about 70-90 eggs per sack in winters.
