Prince Kendal’s nanny and the maid took him in his pram around the palace gardens. He had a soft toy bear that he called ‘Bun’ to keep him company. Sometimes he chewed it and sometimes he flung it out. It had become extremely dirty! Whenever Nanny tried to wash it or hide it, Kendal would scream till he got Bun back. One day, however, when Kendal threw Bun out, a playful dog ran away with it! Kendal screamed; the maid chased the dog, and Nanny yelled! But Bun had gone. The next day, a huge variety of bunnies arrived from the toyshop for the prince to select one. None of them pleased Kendal, who continued to yell! Suddenly, the dog came back with his Bun. One ear had been chewed, but Kendal was delighted. What was even more wonderful was that now he had Bun and a Bow-Wow, for the dog stayed on too!
