Klepty was a cunning fox. He loved to lift things
which did not belong to him!
Klepty lived with his very rich parents in a big house. He had everything he wanted.
But Klepty had a bad habit. He used to lift things which he liked.
He did not think it to be a bad habit.
One day, Klepty went to his friend Stripes’ house. Stripes showed him a lovely toy-car.
Klepty wanted the car for himself. As soon as Stripes left the room,
Klepty picked the car up and went back home.
Stripes was surprised to find Klepty gone. But he did not realise
that his car was missing at that time.
Several days later, Klepty was sitting in his classroom when he
saw Juni showing off his new pencil box.
Klepty as usual wanted the pencil box. During lunch time,
when no one was in the classroom, Klepty took Juni’s box.
But this time, someone was watching him. It was none other than Stripes.
Stripes was shocked and it dawned on him that his missing toy-car
must have been stolen by Klepty.
Stripes wanted to help Klepty get rid of his bad habit. So, he waited for the right moment.
One day, Stripes went to Klepty’s house to play. Klepty showed Stripes a very nice watch.
When Klepty went out of the room, Stripes put the watch in his pocket and left.
When Klepty came back, he found his watch and friend missing.
He immediately went to Stripes’ house.
He confronted Stripes, “You have stolen my watch. Give it back to me.”
Stripes replied, “I will give you your watch if you give me my car.”
Klepty realised that Stripes knew what he had done.
Then Stripes said to him, “Klepty, we all like things we do not have but
that does not mean we lift them.”
He further said, “Lifting things is called stealing. Do you wish to be called a thief?”
Klepty replied, “Never! You have opened my eyes. I will never steal again.”
Klepty said ‘sorry’ and returned Stripes’ car.
He also returned Juni’s pencil box. Klepty became a good fox since that day.
Moral : Stealing things is bad.
