The Kremlin is the official residence of the President of the Russian Federation. It is situated in Moscow, Russia. This fortified complex was built between 1482 and 1495.
Why it is special: The word Kremlin means ‘fortified inside a city’. The Kremlin comprises the Russian Citadels, five palaces, four cathedrals and Kremlin towers enclosed to create a complex that is often referred to as the seat of power of the Government of the Russian Federation, equivalent to the White House in the United States.
