KRISHNA BATTLES WITH ARJUNA

Once Gayan, a gandharva, was driving his flying chariot at a great speed. His chariot passed over the city of Dwarka. Krishna was going towards his palace at that time. So, he had to duck in order to avoid getting hit. Krishna shouted at him. He looked down and saw Krishna looking angrily at him. Gayan did not even have the guts to apologize, so he drove off hastily. Krishna was angry that Gayan did not even say sorry. He decided to kill Gayan. Gayan went to Arjuna and asked for his help. Arjuna promised to help him. When Arjuna had promised, Gayan told him the whole story. Arjuna looked angrily at Gayan. But he had made a promise and was bound by it. A long fierce battle ensued between Arjuna and Krishna. Suddenly, Lord Brahma appeared and asked them to stop the battle. He ordered Arjuna to hand over Gayan to Lord Krishna. He followed the order and Krishna killed Gayan. Brahma brought out the water from his Kamandalu and sprinkled it on Gayan. Gayan was alive. He thanked Brahma. Krishna smiled and hugged Arjuna. Krishna had fought this war to prepare Arjuna mentally for the Mahabharata war.
