L ‘Hemisfèric is a structure built in Valencia, Spain, in 1998. L ‘Hemisfèric is a building that houses the IMAX Cinema, planetarium and laserium. It is the centrepiece of the City of Arts and Science in Valencia. The planetarium is a half sphere made of concrete. A shutter made of elongated aluminium awnings folds upwards to reveal the dome, which is the IMAX theatre.
Amazing Fact: The entire structure is popularly known as ‘the eye of knowledge’ because it resembles a giant eye.
