La Tomatina is an annual tomato-throwing festival organized in Buñol, Spain.

Participants at the Tomatina Festival enjoy the chaotic atmosphere in line with the rules and regulations, including keeping with the time-limit and not hurling anything else at one another excepting squashed tomatoes. After the event, the streets are hosed down. Since 1980, this practice has become an organized festival, with the town council taking responsibility for the event.
