Labyrinth of Egypt

Located at Hawara, about 90 km south of modern Cairo, the lost Labyrinth is believed to be an enormous collective tomb of the twelve kings who built it and a resting place for sacred crocodiles. The complex contains secret chambers, passages, shrines and tombs full of hieroglyphs sculpted in its endless stone walls, containing all the knowledge of ancient Egypt. Classic authors-like Herodotus and Strabo describe it is a colossal temple containing 3000 rooms full of hieroglyphs. We have only the word of three eyewitnesses–Herodotus, Strabo and Petrie–to attest to the size and magnificence of a monument that once surpassed the Pyramids.
