When we see any face from lateral side, a geometrical curvature of the frontal portion is observed. This is called lateral curvature of the face. Lateral curvature is formed due to projecting and receding parts of the frontal face as forehead, nose, mouth and chin; otherwise the face looks straight or flat. Lateral curvature is formed by unified curvature of forehead, nose, mouth and chin.
It is necessary to mention that both lateral curvature and Camper’s angle are separate observing points. Camper’s angle is formed by joining horizontal and imaginary vertical lines in the middle point of lips and nose, but nose has no importance in Camper’s angle. On the contrary, lateral curvature is formed due to projection or receding of nose. Therefore, structure of the nose plays key role in the observation of lateral curvature.
Types of Face on the basis of Lateral Curvature
There are three types of faces on the basis of lateral curvature. They are as following :
Convex Face
Concave Face
Straight Face
1. Convex Face : Convex face is shown in figure 20. The shape of forehead, nose, mouth and chin is having convex curvature. Convex outgrowth is clearly seen by lateral view. Convex shape is the symbol of delicacy, sophistication, tender emotion and deep feeling. The persons having convex face have emotional feelings. They easily understand other’s feelings, but they are completely unwise in respect of materialistic or physical affairs. Materialistic things do not make them happy. They are desirous of searching of spiritual things. They do not like to talk and listen to bitter words. They are interested in music, literature and fine arts. They are artist by heart. These persons are self-willed, spiritual, keen observer, truthful, polite and well-behaved. The person having convex face is knower of nature’s mysteries. Their words touch the heart, they know psychology, highly emotional, lost in their own thoughts. These persons are opulent with high human emotions and virtues. They give due respect to other’s feelings.
The persons possessing convex lateral curvature are not deceitful. Other persons take advantage of their simplicity, gentleness. They take decision under emotional influence due to being emotional by nature, which is harmful to them. Lack of practical mind, inability of taking decision, lethargy, unstable mind etc. are some vices, which are found in them. Such persons are unable to complying principles and fickle in decision making.
They tend to emotions rather than material facts. Therefore, they have to face failure and defeat in business and other practical fields. If they are engaged in emotional and artistic works, they can perform well. They have the qualities of religious teacher, volunteer, artist, philosopher, thinker and able guide.
2.Concave Face : The shape, character and nature of concave face is exactly opposite to convex face. Forehead and chin are projecting and nose is receding in the concave face, as a result the shape of face is having concave curvature by lateral side. Practical zone is contracted due to receding of nose. Consequently, they have lack of practical thinking. They do not think seriously about any subject or situation and get furious to face even any minor problem. They pass through impulses, anger, excitement and stress due to being lack of patience in them. Concave face represents abnormality. Mental and basic zone is abnormally developed and projected outwards due to which mental and basic instincts are dominant in these persons. The person has lack of taking practical decision due to receded practical zone. In such circumstances, a man’s behaviour will definitely be abnormal or unbalanced. These persons are unable to adjust themselves anywhere on account of possessing unbalanced mentality. Their behaviour is not normal, but impulsive. They are mostly unable to understand the feelings of others.
These persons are fond of relishing foods because of their basic zone being abnormally developed. They are always curious about different kind of dishes and eatables. Their body becomes bulky, over weighted and misshaped due to over eating, yet they do not bother about it. Laziness and disarrangement are seen in their life. Their desires are materialistic only. Materialistic things make them pleased. They are completely senseless for other’s emotions. Anger, hatred, suspicion and distrust always remain in their heart. They become irritated on minor matters and lose their control.
Mental zone of the concave faced persons having more developed that is why they are impulsive by nature. Their desires and emotions are of extreme nature rather than normal. They blindly believe on others. They hastily take decision, without considering all aspects of the matter; as a result they have to incur loss.
The persons possessing concave face achieve success in materialistic area in life. They can cross any limit for achieving their target. The thoughts, which create in their mind, soon take form of impulse. Therefore, such persons do their work in eccentricity and also become successful in achieving their goal. But their eccentricity does not lie in one object for long time. Such persons are logical, talkative and well-behaved. The persons having concave face are laborious and successful in their life.
- Straight Face : Straight face is the representative of standard position. Balance, refinement and merits of convex and concave faces are found in straight face. Mental, practical and basic zone are well and equally developed in straight face. Therefore, nature of such persons is systematic and ideal. Such persons are physically and mentally strong. Proper order, balance and patience are seen in their life and work.
The persons having straight face become successful in every field of life. They get adequate respect from home, family, society and business. They get success to establish adjustment and coordination everywhere. Such persons do their work after thorough consideration. First, they patiently think about their planning and thereafter start their work. They carefully think about various aspects of the work such as success, failure, merit, demerit etc. They never turn back when they start work. They have firm determination. Such persons reach in high position of the success as an organizer, businessman, engineer, doctor, advocate, government servant and commandant in the army.
The persons having straight face are fair, believable, outspoken, self controlled, well-behaved, ambitious, systematic and good friends. They are having highest quality of creativity. They are involved and busy always with some important and creative works all over their life. They never waste their time. Their brain is fertile and creative.
