Career in Judiciary
In any democratic system, Judiciary is an important pillar. It not only decides safety measures of lives of people but also protects their constitutional rights. This is the reason why with the changing life, role of states and growing complexities, there is an increment in grandeur of lawyers. Lawyer or advocates acts as a patron of constitution by fulfilling the responsibilities of Judiciary. This is not all, in Judiciary, law specialists are appointed as Judge.
There are great prospects for those who are interested in making their career in field of law. Men and women both are working successfully in this field are gaining popularity and earning wealth. Trained people in the field of law can opt Pleadership as a career.
Young people interested in Pleadership should be graduate from law faculty. Doors are opened in Pleadership to law graduates. One can take admission in law course after 10+2 or graduation. Duration of the law course for 10+2 and graduates is 3 and 5 years respectively. Candidates who successfully complete this course become L.L.B Degree holders. People who want to attain specialization in a particular subject can do another one or two years “Specialist Course”.
In this competitive world, everyone has limited time and wants that his problem should be solved quickly and with great intelligence. Therefore, young people who are interested in making their career in pleadership, the “Specialist course” could prove very useful. Specialization has proved to be very useful many a times in the direction of career. By looking at it necessity many institutes recognised it as an essential eligibility.

After having LLB degree all doors to Pleadership are opened up. But, if you are really serious about this profession you must do LLM. After completing it you will be known as “Law Masters”. It is a 2 years course, which is offered by many universities. After a little practice any LLM candidate can become a lawyer or solicitor. In the beginning one has to work under the guidance of any senior lawyer and should understand the intricacies of pleadership. The duty of a lawyer is to appeal or to do statutory arguments in the court on behalf of his client. Along with giving advice, a lawyer can fight any case after searching statutory facts in favour of court. Pleadership includes filling of a case, case study, necessary research and attendance during court’s proceedings etc. As far as solicitor is concerned, his work is a little bit different from a lawyer. Inspite of having detailed information of statutory intricacies and law the work of a solicitor is only to give advice or guidance for a way out. The work of a solicitor is elaborated like this – he is a master adviser in matters related to private business, labour, jobs, etc., whereas generally a lawyer holds a specific field and gets specialization in it. In the court case a solicitor advises lawyer for how to bring the case in favour of client.
Any lawyer could obtain specialization in the field of his own choice. Major laws in Pleadership are as follows – Company law, Patent law, Income tax law, International law, Land law, Criminal law and Civil law etc. Civil lawyer Mr. Gajender Singh Dhama of Meerut says that till the year 1997, almost 1.5 lakh cases were pending in the Supreme Court. In High Court also a large number of law cases are pending. By looking at the facts, study of law not only his prospects of a good career but looking at the increasing number of cases of human rights increasing the protection of your fundamental rights. Mr Gajender Singh Dhama tells that India is one of the biggest democratic country of the world and our constitution one of the most detailed constitution in the world. In the administrative setup Judiciary is most important out of three wings legislative council executive council and judiciary.
Before independence, most of the people of our country used to go to England for their higher studies. Most of the leading politicians and freedom fighters had a law education from British University. Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel are some of the major names. According to Mr. Dhama, there are doors wide opened for a career in the field of law for the candidates. It is must for the youth to take this subject seriously like any other professional education, for example, engineering or medical. That moment is not very far off when with your hard work and determination you will see your dreams coming true. It is quite possible that one day you will be known is Nani Palkhiwala, Soli Sorabji, or Nagender Singh etc.
