Little Prince Hector had just begun to toddle around and lisp a few words. His nanny thought he was the cleverest little fellow in the kingdom. ‘I must teach him the alphabet,’ she decided. So, she made little cards with pictures and alphabet and collected little toys to show him what each word was. But Hector was really a clever fellow. He learnt some words and letters but put each one with the wrong letter because he had seen many pictures in his storybooks too. D for doll turned into D for dragon! M became Mamma and N was Nanny. B was for a Boogle, which no one understood. Y for Yippee and Z for Zee became a car that was driven around the room at top speed! “I think you had better leave the alphabet, mummy!” said the queen. And that’s how the clever little prince stopped learning the alphabet till he finally went to school!
