Adult lemmings weigh from 30 to 110 gm and are about 7 to 15 cm (3 to 6 inches) long. They have an average life span of 2 years. They are herbivores and feed mostly on leaves and shoots, grasses, roots and bulbs or at times, grubs and larvae as well. Lemmings eat a lot to make up for nutrition.
