My name is Tommy and I am two years old. My owner is a little boy called Haria. I always wake early in the morning. I get out of my basket and run upstairs to find Haria. I nudge his bedroom door open with my nose.
I then leap on to his bed and lick his face until he throws back the duvet and gets up. I jump around him, barking excitedly, as he gets dressed. I know that he will take me for a walk before he goes to school. I run downstairs to collect my lead.
Our favorite walk is through the woods at the back of the house. There is a clearing in the woods where there are a lot of rabbit burrows. I love to chase the rabbits. Last Saturday I had a very frightening experience. I was chasing a rabbit as usual when it ran down a large hole. I went on chasing my prey although I have never caught a rabbit yet. They run very fast.
Then I discovered that the hole had got narrower. I could not move either forward or backward. I was stuck! I was terrified. I barked furiously to attract Haria’s attention.
Fortunately he ran to get his dad, who rescued me. He made the hole bigger by digging it with a spade. Then he pulled me out. I was so relieved to be free!
It will be a long time before I chase a rabbit again. I do not want to have such an experience again. Fortunately, most of my days are a lot less adventurous than that.
