Life Without Electricity

It is said civilization of man began when he learnt to use fire and light. From time immemorial man used wood for fire and oil for light. Man is a progressive animal so he gradually developed electricity. Now electricity has become necessary for life everywhere.
Now to think of comforts of life without electricity is almost impossible. We enjoy all the comforts and luxuries of life with the help of electricity. Electricity is the greatest boon of modern life. Electric lamp, electric heaters, fans, presses, call bells etc. have become necessities of life. Fridge provides us safety of food and of other eatables. Washing machines have given us freedom from washer men. Our water supply also depends on electricity.
Now our comforts and entertainments depend on electric light, radio, television, tape records, cinemas, V.C.P., V.C.R. all depend on electricity. Electricity has conquered nature. Formerly rulers used to go to cool places in summer and warm places in winter. Now air-conditioned rooms keep us warm in winter and cool in summer. Electricity trains run very fast with electricity. Our offices, mills, factories and shops all depend on electricity. Computer photocopies and printing presses depend on electric power.
In medical field x-ray and other modern medical devices depend on electric power. It has become most necessary for our existence.
In advanced countries most of the necessities of life as well as comforts and luxuries of life depend on electricity but in India electricity is monopoly of government and its supply remains uncertain. As such failure of electric power according to some critics is most undesirable. As such proper means should be devised to provide its regular supply as now to imagine life without electricity presents horrible picture.
