Ligers enjoy swimming like tigers, and are very sociable like lions. A liger looks like a giant lion with a tiger-like striped pattern that is very faint upon a lion-like tawny background, has a pale belly, and possesses a hairy mane although not the same as the lion. The liger is often believed to represent the largest known cat in the world, with males reaching a total length of 3 to 3.5 metres. The actual pattern and colour depends on the sub-species of the parents. Ligers exist only in captivity.
