The ling is a cod-like fish living in shallow coastal waters. Its slender body is 3 metres long. It has a small head, a small eye and a projecting upper jaw. The body is a marbled bronze-green with a dark spot at the hind edge of both dorsal fins. It feeds on all kinds of fish. Its Lifespan is 25 years.
