Lucille was a naughty girl who troubled everyone. She loved wishing trouble on others. Her parents had warned her not to trouble others. Her class teacher was fed up with her. Her class friends always complained about her. But Lucille did not change. ‘Oh, I do wish Ms. Mary would fall down from the chair,’ she would think, or ‘I wish Samson would step into that dirty puddle.’ One day, Lucille was walking to school when she saw a massive truck of garbage on the road. ‘How funny it would be if the garbage fell on the old dog that likes to bark at me! I wish it would happen!’ thought Lucille. Just then, the truck veered and garbage fell on her as well as the dog! From then on, Lucille wished for only good things. ‘I should think good of others. Goodness brings happiness to everyone,’ she thought.
