MAHATMA GANDHI

Mahatma Gandhi is called the “the Father of the Nation”. We also call him “Bapuji”. He was born on October 2, 1869, in Porbandar in Gujarat. He went to England to study law. After coming back to India, he went to South Africa to practise law. He was not treated well in South Africa because he was not a white man. He protested against the policy of discrimination of South African government for many years. In India, he fought for the freedom of the country. His weapons were truth and non-violence.
