Once, Jerry Mouse was sick. He was lying in bed all bored. He wanted to get well soon. He was tired of taking the medicines but he had to in order to get well. But his mother was very particular about one thing. She said, “We must always remember to shake the bottle before taking the medicine.” So, whenever Mother gave medicine to Jerry, she shook the bottle. Well, one day, it so happened that Mother forgot to shake the bottle. She just put the medicine on the spoon and gave it to Jerry. But she was upset about it. Jerry wanted to cheer her up, so he said, “Mother, I have an idea.” He climbed onto the pendulum of the clock and began to swing to and fro. He shouted, “Look Mother, I can shake the medicine after I have had it.” Mother laughed a lot.
