The army protected everyone against wild animals as they wended their way through the forest. They followed the traces of Rama’s journey, searching out the camps where he stayed with Seeta and Lakshmana. When Lakshmana spotted the huge army following his brothers, he alerted Rama and Seeta. Rama, however, was confident that he knew Bharata and his noble heart. They finally saw Chitrakoot, with the hut where they lived. There were wooden faggots chopped and kept ready beside the hut for lighting fires. Bows, arrows and other weapons hung on the walls of the hut. On the trees hung clothes made of animals, skins and barks. Looking around Bharata saw Ram seated beside Seeta on a boulder. Bharata ran forward, and overwhelmed with love, he fell at his brother’s feet. It was a moment of great tenderness as Rama embraced Bharata.
