A furious battle began between the armies of Ravan and Ram. The demon army was terrorised by the attacks of Hanuman and Angad. When the demon army started losing, Meghnad took command. Meghnad, an expert in all kinds of war games, released a number of arrows and deterred the monkeys from facing him. The plight of the monkeys made Hanuman so furious that he grabbed a mountain peak and flung it at Meghnad. When Meghnad saw the peak rushing towards him, he felt like it was the messenger of death! He immediately rose up into the sky using his magical skills. At this point, Lakshman joined Hanuman and shot some powerful arrows at Meghnad. Soon, Lakshman and Meghnad were engaged in a ferocious battle. Meghnad realised that Lakshman could not be won over easily, so he took out his deadliest weapon, Shakti, given to him by Brahma. The arrow hit Lakshman’s chest and he fell down unconscious.
