Melvin and his friends practised baseball every evening after school. Their team had become so good that they defeated many teams from other schools. One evening, some men stood watching Melvin and his team play baseball and offered them to participate in a zonal level match in the nearby city. ‘If I tell my parents, they may not allow me to go. My team will return by afternoon, I will be home in no time,’ thought Melvin, and he left home the next morning. However, on their way back, the bus broke down. By the time it was fixed it was quite late in the night. When Melvin finally reached home, he saw that his mother was crying and his father was worried. A police officer was also present. “I am so sorry, mom. I will never go anywhere without informing you,” promised Melvin. He kept his word and never left without informing his parents again.
