Uncle Dan brought a carton full of mangoes to Michael’s house as a thank-you gift. Michael’s father had helped Uncle Dan to earn profits in his business. Michael was overjoyed! “I’m going to eat all of them, mom!” he said excitedly. “But you’ll develop heat boils. Besides it would be nice to share the mangoes with our neighbours,” said Michael’s mother. Michael was so engaged in eating his favourite fruit that he did not listen to his mother. He ate many that evening. The next morning, Michael felt a burning sensation in his left eye. When he looked into the mirror, he was shocked to see a terrible reflection of his eye! His eyelids had swollen up and the eye had become sore red. His mother saw him upset and explained, “It’s because of the heat and will go away in no time.” “I’m sorry that I didn’t listen to you, mom,” said Michael before he went to give the rest of the mangoes to his neighbour.
