Minnie was the laziest cat Mrs Godfrey had ever had. She simply ate, lapped up milk and slept! One day, when Mrs Godfrey was going to visit her brother, Farmer Watts, she took Minnie along in a basket. Minnie had never been on a farm before and had never met any other creature. She thought she was the greatest cat in the world. But she got a shock! Farmer Watt’s large Labrador sniffed at Minnie and, terrified, she shot out of the basket. He chased her into the barn and she was horrified to have all the hens clucking and pecking at her. The horses neighed loudly and the cows mooed. She ran out and found herself in the sheep pen where the sheep bleated at her and one of them butted her right out of the pen! Mrs Godfrey laughed and decided to leave Minnie on the farm! “She’ll never be lazy again!” Mrs Godfrey asserted.
