Mixer Grinder

An electric standing mixer was first invented in the year 1908 by Herbert Johnson. Herbert Johnson was an engineer in Hobart Manufacturing Company and he got the idea of inventing a mixer from a baker mixing dough using a metal spoon. Later he invented 80 quart mixer in 1951. The mixer became a normal apparatus for many of the big bakeries. In the continuation of it he invented the first stand mixer Kitchen Aid which is generally used at home.

In 1919, food grinder and juicer were added to the mixer to make it a more useful appliance. This addition made the mixer furthermore resourceful tool of the preparation of food. Thereafter, Ivar Jepson invented the Sunbeam Mixmaster in the early 1930s. This mixer became more popular than Kitchen Aid and was accepted widely. Later, there were many modifications done in the mixer. In the year 1936, Egmont Ahrens, a designer, modified the Kitchen Aid mixer, reduced its weight and made it handier.
