Mommy’s Little Gem

It was a stormy evening. A nine-year-old little girl knocked frantically at a doctor’s door. The doctor shouted, “Who is it? Come in!” The girl entered the clinic. She looked frightened. She requested the doctor to visit her house and check on her mother. Her mother was suffering from high fever. The doctor saw that the girl was shivering. It was an emergency, so he went to the girl’s house. When he entered her house, he saw a frail-looking woman lying on the bed. She was so sick that she could not even raise her head! The doctor administered injections and applied cold compresses. He decided to stay at the girl’s house till her mother’s condition improved. By morning, the girl’s mother recovered. The doctor said he would return after lunch to check on her mother’s condition. When the doctor arrived at the girl’s house, he saw that the girl was feeding porridge to her mother. Her mother thanked the doctor. The doctor said, “Madam, you are blessed to have such a gem. It’s your daughter who saved your life.”
