After working late at night, Sally drove home thinking about her little son. As she climbed up the stairs, he called her into his room, “Mom, I can’t sleep; there’s a monster in the window!” “It’s just the branches blowing in the wind; do you see?” Sally pointed and showed him. When she collapsed into her bed, she heard, “Mom, the monster is back again!” Sally opened the window and said, “See, it’s nothing but the tree. Now go to sleep.” Seeing that he was quite frightened, Sally said, “Fine, I’ll just sleep with you.” As Sally closed her tired eyes, that’s when she heard the monster, except it wasn’t tapping at the glass; it was walking in from the opened window. Sally couldn’t help but wonder, ‘Why didn’t I realise I had no trees in my yard?’ She immediately picked her son up and rushed out of the house.
