Their diet consists of both terrestrial and aquatic vegetation and fruits. An adult moose stands 4.6-6.9 feet high at the shoulder, and weighs 200-700 kg. They mate in September and October following a gestation period of 8 months. The female usually gives birth to a single calf. The life span of an average moose is about 15-25 years.
