About 200 species of moray eels are known. These fish live in holes and crevices of rocks and corals. They can be black, brown, grey or olive green with long bodies and snouts. These snake-like fish lack pectoral and pelvic fins. Being dimly sighted, they use their excellent sense of smell to ambush prey like small fish, molluscs, cephalopods, sea snakes and crustaceans.
