Mother Teresa

Mother-Teresa

Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhui, lovingly known as Mother Teresa or the ‘Blessed Mother of Calcutta’, was born on the 26th of August 1910 in the Republic of Macedonia, and passed away on the 5th of September, 1997.

Do you know that when she received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979, Mother Teresa declined the traditional honour banquet; instead, she requested that the $192,000 of the banquet be given to help the poor in India?

Mother Teresa was an Albanian Roman Catholic sister and missionary, who moved from Macedonia to Ireland and then India to help the poor. She ran hospices and opened homes for people with leprosy, HIV and other diseases.

Famous Quote: “If you judge people, you have no time to love them.”
